A By-Law Proposal was submitted by Mr. Jerry Nacy
concerning Article II, Section 3, Item D: Life Membership.
The Current Reading:
Upon due petition by any member, the club may, by
two-thirds (2/3) vote of the attending members, grant life
membership to a member who has been a member of the
club for a minimum of twenty (20) consecutive years and
has rendered distinguished service.
The Proposal Reads:
Upon due petition by any member, the club
may, by two-thirds (2/3) vote of the attending
members, grant life membership to a member who
has been a member of the club for a minimum of
ten (10) consecutive years and has rendered
distinguished service.
First reading at the January 2010 meeting
Second reading at the February 2010 meeting.
Third and final reading at the March 2010 meeting
lead to the amendment being dismissed.
A By-Law was submitted by Bill Palmer at the March
meeting concerning Article VI, DUTIES of OFFICERS,
section -2, VICE-PRESIDENT.
Current Reading:
It shall be the duty of the vice-president to
succeed and exercise all the duties of the president
in his absence. It shall be his duty to act as
secretary to the board of trustees without power of
vote.
Proposed Reading:
It shall be the duty of the vice-president to
succeed and exercise all the duties of the president
in his absence. It shall be his duty to act as
secretary to the board of trustees without power of
vote. It shall be his duty to verify the length of
membership and outstanding accomplishments of
those members nominated for life membership.
Purpose:
To ensure the eligibility, according to Article II,
section - 3, Item - D of the Lloyd Rod And Gun Club
By-Laws.
