By-Law Amendments
2009 Amendments to the
by-laws
A proposed by-law change from Mr. Jerry Nace
concerning the number of years required for Life
Member has been submitted.

Current reading ARTICLE II - section D  Life Members
Upon due petition by any member, the club may, by
two-thirds (2/3) vote of attending members, grant life
membership to a member who has been a member of
the club for a minimum of twenty (20) consecutive
years and rendered distinguished service. Such
service shall be set forth in the petition. Before any
vote be taken on any life member petition, written
notice shall be given to each member at least ten (10)
days prior to the voting on such petition.

Amendment shall read: Upon due petition by any
member, the club may, by two-thirds (2/3) vote of
attending members grant life membership to a member
who has been a member for a minimum of ten(10)
consecutive years and rendered distinguished service.

REASON: 20 years is too long.  Changing the
requirement to ten (10) years makes life membership
more attainable by current club members.
At the April 2009 meeting the final reading of this
Amendment war read and voted on.  The
Amendment was Defeated.
